Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner Appoints Parliamentary Spokesperson
Ruislip, Northwood and Pinner Liberal Democrats have announced the appointment of Ian Rex Hawkes as the Parliamentary Spokesperson for the constituency.
At the Annual General Meeting for the local party, Ian Rex-Hawkes was formally accepted as Parliamentary Spokesperson for the constituency. In due course, we hope that he will be formally appointed as the Parliamentary Candidate for our constituency.
Ian applied for the role in September this year and, after a fairly minimal competition, was accepted as spokesperson as the only candidate for the role. Nevertheless, we met with Ian to make sure that he has the drive, experience and intellect to represent this constituency, and we were happy to have him become part of the team.
Ian is a Chartered Financial Planner working for a large law firm. Although he is now disabled, he previously enjoyed martial arts, snowboarding and wakeboarding. In particular, as a martial artist he was an instructor who taught possibly hundreds of students over the course of a decade or so running the Imperial College London Aiuchi Jiu Jitsu club.
He is a keen photographer as well as having a strong sense of social justice, so we think it is very likely you will see him at Ruislip Lido, camera in hand, and you should feel free to approach him for a chat about any political issues that might be of interest to you.
