After 23 years of excellent service, Swallow's Gym Club has now been forced to close by Hillingdon's Conservative Council.

Following the announcement that Hillingdon Council have succeeded in making the Hillingdon School of Gymnastics homeless Cllr Mike Cox commented

"Having been brought up watching the famous Olympics gymnasts such as Olga Korbut and Nadia Comaneci it was a particular joy for me to try and help Mike and Tania Swallow save the centre of excellence they have created at the Gymnastics dome in South Ruislip.

Unfortunately the attitude of the Conservative cabinet has been vindictive and poisonous throughout. To see Tania Swallow accept the Schools awards for their contributions to sport in Hillingdon so gracefully and without rancour should make them all deeply ashamed.

I have provided political and professional support for the School willingly and would do so again. They are a fantastic group of people and I will be doing everything I can to ensure Hillingdon continues to enjoy the fruits of their skills and their enthusiasm."
